Mentor Match

We are always looking for adults who want to make a difference in a child’s’ life. You don’t need any experience or special skills – we will train and support you. You just need to be at least 21 years old, complete our 2-day training and make a one-year commitment to the program.

Once the program starts, you are expected to attend an initial weekend retreat and the group activities which take place every six weeks. You are also encouraged to maintain regular communication with your mentee through phone calls, email and meetings that you arrange at your convenience.

" " Being a mentor was one of the most enriching experiences I’ve ever had – you get to make a big difference in a kids’ life and you learn a lot about yourself. "" - LIFE Project Mentor

Our program year includes:

  • Comprehensive training for all new mentors
  • Weekend retreat to support new matches in a supportive group environment
  • Ongoing group events every six weeks, including team building events, educational activities, an annual community service project, and fun trips to places like Great America and Monterey Bay Aquarium
  • One-on-one mentoring opportunities (please note you must be 21 to mentor) as well as other volunteer opportunities within the program.
